Ben is just a typical city boy looking for a change of pace from the busy streets of London. And he’s fortunate enough to be able to travel over to Wales for the weekend, exploring the mountains, hiking, pressing on into a world that he hopes is a break from the reality of the city. But it turns out, for him, to be so very much more than that, so much more than Ben could ever have imagined, even in his wildest dreams. For it is out there that he catches sight of a ripple in a lake and uncovers a creature that should never have existed, a beautiful, flowing, fluid hippocampus, a monster of the lake.He is not like anything that should be in the human world, a creature who has stepped straight out from myth and fantasy, yet he knows where he belongs, cocky and coy, luring the human closer. Oh, but Ben wants to know more of him too, his heart aching, pounding for him, as curious as he is lustful when the monster proposes a particular kind of offer to please him, in exchange for, well……Just a bit of fun, really. There doesn’t have to be anything more to it than that. And Ben, surprised at the turn things have taken, goes along with it, aching for something that the man had never known he’d wanted.
